The Beat Goes On

It’s easy to become distracted from your dream or your vision … or even indifferent at times.  How do we hold the vision before us, even when we feel we’re not making any progress, and take the next step and the next?  What if you spend so much time and energy encouraging others that you seem to run out of steam for yourself?  What if there’s not a steady influx of emotional support for you … to keep you motivated to “take that next step”?

This is one of my struggles, maybe my biggest one.  My mom was great at this and I miss having her reassurance in my life.  I do have a couple of great friends, but they have lives of their own and sometimes it’s a long time between conversations and I start to get to the point where I’m running on empty.  I’m working full time, starting my own business, and thoroughly enjoying a new relationship in addition to maintaining family relationships.  Fitting it all in, maintaining focus and keeping my emotions pulsing instead of flat-lining is challenging.  When we don’t have someone help revive us, we need to find some way to keep the heartbeat going.

As I thought about how to stay motivated and taking those forward-moving steps, I realized I need to make better use of the sites I’ve found on the internet (including Facebook pages).  There is so much great stuff being shared and it’s free (helps me be frugal and fabulous).  The easiest way I’ve found to nurture the part of me needing encouragement is to visit some of these online places and bask in the warmth of the knowledge and wisdom being shared.  I can find mediation music, encouraging words, affirmations, and so much more.

I don’t have the money to spend on a life coach right now but there are some great websites and facebook pages where coaches are sharing and providing links, e-books, and so much more.  Taking a few minutes to explore one of these avenues each day helps me receive the boost I often need to find clarity and focus.  There’s so much out there.  Pick one, two, a few … let them speak to you and nourish you.  Find someone who is doing what interests you and “join” them … follow their blog, find them on Facebook and Twitter, watch their website.  Let some of these inspirational folks inspire you and help you keep going.
