Healing Thoughts,  Peaceful Living

Morning Solace

What a treat.  It’s not early, but I’m a morning person with a house full of night owls.  It’s the weekend – no work – so I basically have the house to myself while the others remain in peaceful slumber.  The neighborhood still sleeps as well.  Cars are sitting in driveways.  Doors and windows still closed … except for mine.  The blinds are open and the morning light filters in.  The patio door lets in fresh air as well as the singing of the birds and the hooting of an owl.  My servants – dishwasher and washing machine – are faithfully at work so I can enjoy this bit of respite and repose.  The coffee pot has once again provided it’s steaming beverage to help awaken my senses.  Dare I say a shower a bit earlier was the initial eye-opener.  Now, the sights, smells, and sounds of my day are filling in the gaps.  In this quiet solitude, I can think.  I can feel – not with touch but with mindful emotion.  I can experience part of life that comes from within … that part of life that is so delicate … that part of life that’s easily drowned out from too much activity, too much sound, too much external stimuli, too much of too much.  The solace of the morning lets the inside out instead of the outside in.
